Everything You Should Know About Android ! Android OS is Good Or Bad?
I hope everyone know what is android ? Android is an operating system for smartphones and it is purely designed for open handset alliance.
Do you know what is open hardware alliance ?
It is a consortium of 84 firms to develop open standards for mobile devices.
Firstly I would like to say that android is an open source operating system. ie. the original source code can be made available for free. It can be modified and redistributed by anyone.
Android is first open source operating system developed for smartphones.
History Of Android
The initial development was done by android inc. later google bought android in the year of 2005,
it came to public in 2007 and the first version of android for smartphone was released in 2008 the version was 1.5 cupcake. First 2 versions were developed but it was in beta testing.
The first mobile phone to run android operating system is HTC DREAM.
The first version of android was used for camcorders, and then Andy Rubin come to know this will be the best operating system if it goes to mobile platform.

The first two versions were ignored because it was used in cameras.

This is the brief history of android versions.
Why android is more popular than other mobile operating system such as iphone and windows phone?
The main reason is its open source and the source code.
source code is divided into three parts
1. kernel, A kernel is a piece of code which handles all the inputs and outputs of your device, the exact meaning is when you tap the screen you are giving some input to your smartphone as soon as you touch your display it shows something right? that is done by the kernel.
2.Second is runtime
3.Third is application applications are also known as software the you usually installs in your android smartphone.
When you see the source code of iphone and windows phone it is purely based on c and c# iphone natively runs on objective c and windows phone runs on the source code c#
but android uses different code for each one.
The kernel is made up of linux , the runtime is coded with c and java and the application is programmed in java and android API's. When we compare android with other operating systems this is the major difference.

when you compare android to windows phone and iphone andoid is slower in opening the application. even though the smartphone companies are developing quad core, octa core processor to work faster but iphone uses only dual core processor it always wins. IPhone can launch the application faster than android.

Android become more popular in the year of 2011 by releasing a new version called Android 4.0.1(IceCream Sandwich).

As you see above the next versions of android 4.0 is jelly bean and then kitkat and lollipop.
We all know there is no big changes in UI and also in features.
Android 5.0 lollipop was released in 2014 this version comes with best UI since the initial release of android. The user interface is named as Material design, if you are woundering what is material design use wikipedia you will get all the information about lollipop. Upcomming version of android is android M (Marshmallow) still its in developer preview state.
Do you have any idea why we need these versions?
lets take a look at kitkat 4.4.2-4.4.4 google released this version in the year of 2013, it had many bugs in the source code so android developers have fixed the bugs and released a new version 4.4.4 as we are a user we cannot access this update directly.
Here comes OEM ie. original equipment manifacturer will get the package and modify the source code to support for your android device to support what ever smartphone you have.
Most of the smarphone compaines will not modifiy the source code because they need a developers to modifiy so they will igonre these updates.
What happens now?
If you buy 4.4.2 version of android then you are victim to hackers or your smartphone might not work properly.
Im not saying android is a bad opeating system, google will announce the updated verison in their website but OEM will ignore because they dont want to waste money on sold smartphone they were worring about how to earn money in this competative market. They have a brilliant idea,
instead of wasting money on sold phone they will make a new smartphone and install the new version of android operating system in it. They don't care about what version you have in your smartphone and what problem you are facing.
Google done a great job for providing a best version of android to users they will choose one smartphone manifacturar and they will install a pure version of android called google edition phone and it has a name "NEXUS".Last year Moto X got the google edition and also LG got the Nexus.
Only google edition phone can get android verison update or upgrade directly from google servers through OTA.
So my dear friends if you are willing to buy an android smartphone then go for Samsung, Sony, Motorola, LG, HTC because they will provide at least the security patch for your smartpone. Some of the manifacturar will not do.
So I think you would have come to a conclusion about android, don't look for cost, look for services like update and upgrade.
